You can easily edit and annotate your screenshot by clicking on the floating preview window or opening it in Preview.app and hitting ⌘+shift+A to get the annotation tools.įor window management, I think the free rectangle app is the best ( ). Acorn is also a fast, great image editor btw. If you want to get more out of your screenshots get Acorn ( ) it can take screenshots where every screen element is on a separate layer with alpha channels.

⌘+shift+5: screenshot/screen capture interactive mode, check out the menu at the bottom for all the options ⌘+shift+4, then space (same as above but instead select a window or menu to take a screenshot of) ⌘+shift+4, then control+click (same as above, but only capture to clipboard) ⌘+shift+4: take a screenshot of the selected area of your screen

⌘+shift+3: take a screenshot of all connected monitors full screen Are you aware of the different ways to do screenshots? I think the built-in screenshot functionality to be more than sufficient.

Seriously isn't this supposed to be a positive of the mac? If anyone can recommend anything that comes close to Greenshot Windows on a mac (Geenshot for Mac is undercooked) please let me know.ĭon't get me wrong I love my Mac and the positives do outweigh the negatives but I just needed to rant. Screenshots, don't get me started on screenshots, Mac has better screenshots yes, but Windows has much better 3rd party apps. I don't mind how macs layout their keyboards, but when using something like Virtual Box or Citirx viewer you should be able to use the keyboard properly instead of switching back into mac windows when using ctrl + an arrow key for navigating word documents. The fourth thing is using Windows emulation and keyboards.

Thats not to mention the things that don't have proper settings and need 3rd party apps or terminal code to fix such as the completely messed up mouse acceleration, as great as their trackpad is I hate using a mouse on a mac, you need a 3rd party app to fix mouse scroll acceleration as there is inexplicably no setting for it.

I have had to install better snap tool to fix window management on the desktop as who the hell wants to constantly drag the corner of their window or right click the top left corner to snap or lose the dock and top bar when fully expanded or work in windows that aren't full screened just let me snap like in Windows, it's so intuitive. Teams doesn't have a badge to show your online either. The second thing is window management, why can't I have two chrome icons for my different profiles? Why can't I see what windows are there without right clicking, just hover to show the windows like in Windows. Having a permanent taskbar that extends across all Windows and is much faster to open apps was a huge change I'm still not used to. There is no reason to have to drag my mouse down to the bottom of the display and wait what feels like an eternity to be able to open an app on another monitor.

The first and most glaring issue is you can't duplicate the dock across multiple monitors. I love the Mac and the positives outweigh the negatives but I just need to rant and hope someone at Apple hears. First time post, I just recently switched to a MBP and have been loving the integration with my iPhone.
